Whether you want to get fit, learn a new skill, make new friends, or spend time with the family, Big Marble Go Centre has something for everyone. The building is fully accessible and ample, free parking is available.

Community clubs and groups

The Big Marble Go Centre is home to the following clubs:

Kinsmen Aquatic Park 
Fun for all ages with a wave pool, tot's bubble pool, lazy river, waterslide, hot tub, steam room, springboards, diving platform and viewing area. 
South Country Co-op Fitness Centre 
The 17,000 square foot South Country Co-op Fitness Centre includes a 200 metre indoor track and a variety of exercise equipment.
Gymnasium
Our multi-purpose, dividable gymnasium can accommodate two basketball, four volleyball or ten badminton/pickleball courts.
Sports Fields

Outdoor sports field options include:

  • The Methanex Bowl, a premier synthetic turf football field
  • Four ball diamonds
  • Three regulation soccer pitches

Fees
  • $3.00 for the first hour, $1.50 for each additional half hour
  • Bulk passes available

Bulk passes are non-transferable, each child must have their own bulk pass


Check in and payment

Pre-payment at the front desk is required for child minding.


General policies
  • Parents/guardians must remain in the building while using child minding services unless they are participating in an outdoor program (a cell phone number is required)
  • Children are to be dropped off and picked up promptly
  • Parents/guardians are to provide diapers and wipes that their child may require
  • Outside shoes must be removed outside the child-minding room. Socks must be worn once inside the room to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Due to the potential for serious allergic reactions, there is no food allowed in the child-minding area. Children are encouraged to have their snack in the main lobby or at one of our food services locations under the supervision of their parent/guardian before or after care. As an additional safety measure, allergies should be brought to the attention of the child-minding caregivers.
  • Personal belongings are to be labeled and must be removed from the child-minding area upon departure. Please do not leave valuables in your child's bag or backpack. We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  • Child-minding caregivers will not administer medication to children and medications should not be brought to the child-minding Area. Emergency medications such as EpiPens are an exception, and any emergency medication will be placed in the Emergency medication bin. 
  • Do not bring your children if they have a rash, cough, fever, diarrhea, nausea or are vomiting

Accessibility and inclusion

  • The lobby, Cenovus Arena, gymnasium, change rooms (with showers), steam room and pool viewing area all have level entries. 
  • The wave pool and lazy river can be accessed from a ramped entrance off the pool deck, while a portable seated lift provides access to the 50m pool and hot tub. 
  • The fieldhouse change rooms have level entry. A decline ramp takes you down to field level for viewing.
  • Special fitness equipment can be adapted for varying needs is accessible by elevator.
  • We offer a Fair Entry program to assist low income families or individuals.

Visitor guidelines

In order to ensure the safety of you and those around you, please review the following guidelines:

General guidelines
  • Report any comments, concerns or damaged equipment to facility staff immediately
  • Offensive language or behavior will not be tolerated
  • Carry your facility pass or proof of admission with you at all times
  • In the event of an emergency, contact facility staff for assistance
Lockers

All lockers require the use of your own padlock or combination lock. Locks are available for purchase from the front desk. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.


Footwear

For your safety and to keep our facility clean, we ask that you bring appropriate indoor shoes to work out in the gymnasium, fieldhouse, fitness centre and track area.


Kinsmen Aquatic Park
  • Children under eight years of age must be supervised (within arm's reach) in the water by a responsible person 16 years or older
  • All injuries must be reported to the lifeguards
  • Prior to entering the pool, swimmers are required to have a cleansing shower with soap
  • Persons on medication for high blood pressure, heart conditions, or other medical conditions must consult with their physician prior to use of the hot tub or steam room
  • Only service animals are permitted in the facility
  • Food is prohibited in the change rooms and on deck. Beverages in non-glass containers are allowed in viewing areas only
  • Please remove shoes prior to entering the park
  • Goggles or masks with tempered glass are prohibited
Fitness Area
  • Age Use Guidelines:
    • 8-11 years - track only, actively supervised by someone 16 years+
    • 12-13 years - track, cardio, circuit, synergy, and team training area. (No access to Olympic/squat racks, heavy weights/w end weights)
    • 14+ - full access
  • Please follow equipment directions and trainer instructions carefully
  • Water only in the fitness area, as protein mixes and colored drinks will permanently stain the running track
  • Use courtesy; share the equipment, avoid playing loud music, etc.
  • Do not drop weights and put weights away after use
  • Wipe down equipment to maintain a safe and clean facility
Track
  • Please follow the posted daily track direction
  • Stop and check both ways before crossing the track
  • Children from 8-11 years may utilize the track while actively supervised by a responsible person over the age of 16
  • Lanes are single file
  • Wear clean, non-marking, appropriate footwear. Please note: Cleats may be worn on the track (3mm is the maximum spike allowed).
  • Strollers with clean wheels are welcome
  • Walking poles are permitted provided that rubber boot or bell tips are utilized
  • Use lockers to store bags, jackets and other personal items
  • No food or beverage allowed
Gymnasium
  • Wear clean, non-marking footwear
  • Strollers with clean wheels are welcome
  • Use the plastic floor hockey sticks provided, no tape or wooden sticks are allowed
  • Pinnies are available
  • Hanging on hoops or nets will damage the equipment and is discouraged
  • Return all equipment to the proper storage cart after use
  • Equipment room access is limited to City of Medicine Hat staff, please ask at the front desk for assistance
  • Use change room lockers to store bags, jackets and other personal items
  • When your session has concluded, ensure the area is left tidy for the next scheduled activity
