Public Swimming

The City of Medicine Hat offers public swimming at several locations, including the Kinsmen Aquatic Park at the Big Marble Go Centre, the Crestwood Rec Centre and at outdoor pools during the summer months.

Kinsmen Aquatic Park at Big Marble Go Centre

The Big Marble Go Centre will see major upgrades in 2024 on both the pool and arena infrastructure to ensure the longevity of the facility. The Cenovus Arena will close from April 8 until July, while the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre will be closed from May 15 to September 15. Learn more.

The Kinsmen Aquatic Park at Big Marble Go Centre (BMGC) offers something for everyone. The aquatic park includes a lazy river, leisure wave pool, tot pool, hot tub, steam room, 25M lane swim pool, variable depth pool and dive tank.
Fun features also include a giant snake waterslide, two 1-metre diving boards, two platforms and a rope swing!

Crestwood Recreation Centre

Located in central Medicine Hat and featuring a 25-metre pool, sauna, rope swing and diving board, the indoor pool at Crestwood Rec Centre (CRC) is the ideal place to take a dip!

Outdoor Pools

When the weather is warm, nothing beats a swim at an outdoor pool! Hill Pool on the Southwest Hill and Strathcona Pool in the North Flats offer options within the city limits, while Echo Dale Swim Lake provides unique views and a quintessential Medicine Hat outdoor experience a short distance away on Holsom Rd SW.

For a safe and fun swimming experience, please remember:

  • Please take a cleansing shower prior to enter the pool area. Please wash off face paints and temporary dyes prior to entering the pool.
  • Appropriate swimwear is required. Street wear can impact water quality and clog our filters.
  • Children 7 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must be in the water with the child.
  • There must be one adult in the water for every 3 children 7 years of age and under.
  • Glass masks and goggles are not permitted in the pool area. Only plastic masks and goggles are permitted.
  • Photography is not permitted in the pool area without prior approval.
