Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is growing. We're charging forward in support of the transition to low-emission vehicles by adding EV chargers in high-traffic public locations.
Locations
In 2023, we installed four level 2 chargers, each with 8.3 kW capacity, in Medicine Hat's Towne Square at 603 First Street SE.
We chose Towne Square for our first install because it is a high use, well illuminated lot that is always open to the public. We’ll continue to seek out and commit funding to build out our public EV charging network from here.

Funding for this project was provided by the SouthGrow Regional Initiative (SGRI), in partnership with the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP).
