Schedule a trip

  • Download the MHTnow app from the Apple or Play store or log in from your desktop.
  • Enter your starting point and destination within the zone.
  • Request a bus.
  • Provide your rider information.
  • Get a notification so you know when to expect your ride and where to wait.
  • Use the app to watch your bus, or receive a text to know when your ride will arrive in real time.

Service hours

MHTnow is available from 6:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., Monday to Friday and from 8:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Sundays in the Central & North zones.

Please note, MHTnow does not offer a Holiday service.

Please note, exact fare is required upon boarding.

Ride all day with the new day pass. For $6.50, the day pass allows riders unlimited access to ride MHT throughout the day. Purchase your day pass from the driver when boarding.

MHT Go! Passes

Medicine Hat Transit has introduced the electronic fare collection system, which allows contactless payment by tapping a reloadable card when boarding a bus.

Need access to Wi-Fi? 

Free, public Wi-Fi is now available at the Transit Terminal.

Search for the network name MHTransitNowDT. A password is not required, but customers must accept the agreement page outlining 'acceptable use'. Once complete, riders will have 15 minutes to download the app and book their trip.

The network does not allow for visits to other websites.

Where does MHTnow operate?
MHTnow operates in the north zone, which includes the northeast and northwest areas of the city. The service also operates in the central zone, which includes the Flats, South Hill and Hospital routes.

The service is available weekday evenings (6:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.).

Sunday service is also available in the north and central zones. This service is available from 8:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

How does MHTnow connect with other transit routes?

MHTnow connects with other routes at the Transit Terminal downtown. Book your MHTnow trip using the ‘arrive by' time to ensure you connect with our regular service at the downtown terminal.

If you are riding the regular fixed-route service, use the app to book your pick-up at the terminal for your arrival time to ensure a smooth transfer.

How long will MHTnow be available?
MHTnow is maintaining customer service and continues to find cost-savings. Staff are always looking for ways to further improve our service.

Fixed-route service will remain in areas where ridership is high. This is the most efficient way to deliver transit service.
Can I use MHTnow if I use a wheelchair?
Yes, MHTnow utilizes regular transit buses. All transit buses are accessible with wheelchair seating on each bus. Riders can state their need for wheelchair access when booking a trip on the app and staff will ensure space is available on the bus sent to pick you up.
Can I book a trip without the app? Without a smartphone?
Yes. If you do not have a smartphone, you can call a booking agent at 403-529-8214, and when promoted, select #3.

The agent will need a phone number so they can reach you to provide alerts on the arrival time of your bus.
