Connecting Community reminds us that we're all Hatters.connecting community

Connecting Community  is a community initiative designed to enhance our sense of community and pride of place. It is a chance to meet other Hatters through short videos, socially distanced conversations and events, as well as through our personal actions. Connecting Community is about participating together, learning about and from one another, discovering our connections.

Small actions add up.

Together we can further build Medicine Hat’s welcoming and inclusive small-town feel.

More ways to connect:

  • Take part in the forum and share your story on Shape Your City
  • Join the conversation on social media by using #imahatter
  • Act and interact in small ways with those outside your cohort. A smile, a wave, a socially distanced friendly conversation with someone new to you.
  • Host or attend a small event under the Connecting Community banner that brings people together to meet, converse and share.
  • Claim your belonging in an #imahatter video
    • Next taping is October 27, 2020 – Call Leslie at 403.502.8086.
These videos are unscripted with Hatters responding to a series of six questions:
      • Tell me about yourself
      • What are you most proud of?
      • What is your favourite Hatter place or experience?
      • What is the question you get asked most often?
      • What is the question you wish people would ask you?
      • What is your message for the world?
  • Become a partner and contribute to the Connecting Community initiative through sponsorship, and events.
