Senior Services is a division of the Community Development Department of the City of Medicine Hat. Through outreach and internal programs involving the coordination of approximately 100 volunteers involved in over 35 programs, Senior Services provides facility management, partnerships and numerous support programs as well as a comprehensive food services component including approximately 60,000 Meals on Wheels annually.
Senior Services promotes the well-being of people 50+ through various support services through our seniors' centres. These centres are both run by a dedicated team of City staff members, as well as a huge amount of support from volunteers and community partners.
Celebrate Seniors' Week with us!
June 1-7 is Seniors’ Week in Alberta. Seniors’ Week is an important opportunity to recognize seniors for their contributions to the foundation of our community, as well as their involvement in making our neighborhoods vibrant and dynamic.
Each year the City of Medicine Hat proclaims Seniors’ Week and hosts a variety of events to celebrate, alongside various community partners. This year, we have had to make some adjustments in how we celebrate, and are therefore hosting a variety of virtual events. Please consider joining in on any of these opportunities!
