Each street light has an identification number painted on the pole that pinpoints its location.
Please provide this number or street address when reporting the outage.
Due to improvements in technology, the use of Light Emitting Diode (LED)'s in roadway lighting has been a new development within the industry. LED lights are designed to have low current, heat and voltage which results in a longer lifespan, lower maintenance costs and energy savings.
LED street lighting has been installed in several new subdivisions in Medicine Hat. In 2013, the City started converting the existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) street lighting to LED.
