Public Safety: A Key Concern for the Electric Utility
Electricity is an important part of our daily lives, but the dangers associated with electricity must be respected. Electricity always seeks the easiest path to ground (the earth). When the human body becomes that path, injury or death may occur. Awareness and appropriate action can prevent electrical injuries.
The City of Medicine Hat participated with the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) and other Utilities to develop an educational dvd regarding safety around high voltage power line contacts.
Locally, the Utility has been providing an in-school safety program since the early 1980’s, where students receive a classroom demonstration on electrical safety.
To book a "Hazard Hamlet" classroom demonstration, please call 403.529.8262.
