The City will be completing deep utility replacements along 7 Street SE between Kingsway Ave and South Railway Street this spring.
The area has experienced several water main leaks in recent years. The water and sanitary systems along this corridor will be upgraded as part of this project.
Timing & Traffic Accommodations
Work is anticipated to begin in May.
The project will be split into phases, allowing crews to complete the work in segments to facilitate continued access to local businesses and residences during construction. A phasing plan will be provided to affected area occupants before area work begins.
Detours will be in place and motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signs and detours related to ongoing construction.
This project will replace aging and deteriorated water and sanitary infrastructure along this corridor to ensure consistent and reliable service to City customers. The roadway and deteriorated sections of concrete will also be replaced as part of this project.
Regular communication will be maintained with the affected occupants throughout the duration of the project.
A letter will be mailed out to residents and businesses in the area.
Future updates will be provided here, by public advisory and on the City’s social media channels.
A perimeter fence will be installed around the active work zone. For your continued safety, the public is asked to observe all safety fencing and construction signage posted around the active work zone.
The City of Medicine Hat would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding as the necessary upgrades are completed to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure for years to come.
