The Solid Waste Utility offers commercial waste and cardboard collection service to commercial, institutional, industrial customers as well as multi-unit dwelling residential and apartment facilities within the City of Medicine Hat.
The Utility offers waste collection from 1.5 or 3.0 cubic yard containerized bins with a collection frequency of 1 – 5 days per week. The bin size and collection frequency is based on what is requested upon application for service. All requests are reviewed by Solid Waste Utility staff to ensure collection is feasible for each location requesting service prior to the delivery of the bin(s).
Cardboard collection is offered in 3.0 cubic yard containerized bins and is only emptied 1 - 2 times per week depending on the needs of the business or location requesting the service.
In order to provide safe, efficient and environmentally sound solid waste collection services, the Utility requests that commercial account customers follow the collection guidelines as outlined. Service rates are determined by Solid Waste Utility management staff and approved by City Council for addition to Waste Bylaw #1805.
To request service, a service request form must be completed and submitted to Environmental Utilities. Contact Environmental Utilities at 403.529.8176 or view the Service Request Form below.
