Residential waste carts are emptied weekly based on a zone collection schedule. Scheduled collection days advance with each statutory holiday or staff training day as noted in the schedule and will be advertised in the public notice section of the Medicine Hat Newspaper prior to the scheduled change.
For residential waste collection schedules and information, download the Recycle Coach App to your smartphone at no charge. The App can be set up to send you alerts and to also receive reminders prior to collection day. Reporting issues with collection or submitting requests is made easy with the “Report a Problem” feature.
In an effort to go green even further than we already have, the Solid Waste Utility will no longer be sending the one-page calendar and zone map with your December utility bill. You can download the Recycle Coach App on your smartphone, print off the current calendar from the link below or contact Environmental Utilities to have a calendar mailed out to you.
Should you require further information, contact Environmental Utilities at 403.529.8176.

Don’t forget to set out properly!
Set carts apart and away from obstacles to ensure they can be emptied by the collection trucks. Remember, if you can walk around each cart comfortably then you have enough room for the trucks to access each cart for collection.
