Wondering why you received your Property Assessment Notice before your Property Tax bill?
Property Assessment Notices are mailed in February to allow property owners time to review the assessed value and to address any concerns with the Assessment Department. Property owners have 60 days to file a complaint about their assessment; however, please review your assessment and then contact the Assessment Department for an explanation before filing an appeal.
It is important to review your Property Assessment Notice before the complaint deadline as you will not be able to
appeal your Tax bill.
When will you get your Property Tax bill?
The Property Assessment value is used to calculate your Property Tax bill once City Council sets the property tax rate in April. Your Property Tax bill will be mailed out in May and you will have until June 30, 2019 to pay it.
Since the due date falls on a Sunday this year, property taxes will be considered paid on time if received at City Hall by 4:30 p.m. on July 2, 2019.
