Standata 19-FCI-015 has removed the requirement from the National Fire Code 2019 Alberta Edition for owners to register their storage tanks with the PTMAA.  It states that the AHJ will advise the owner of the enrollment process regarding the inventory control requirements for maintaining the storage tank system certification for their area.

Medicine Hat Fire Service will administer a Storage Tank Operating Permit process which is similar to that which PTMAA had previously administered and the one that ASCA is now administering in unaccredited municipalities.  All storage tanks greater than 2500L must be permitted and your certificate must be displayed on site.

Tank permits will expire annually on November 30.  Application packages for permit renewals should be reviewed carefully to ensure they contain all necessary documentation.  Completed applications should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the renewal date to ensure sufficient time for review and processing.

Permit Fees

Tank permit fees are $75 per tank, you will be invoiced for these fees after your application is processed.
