Wellness Wednesdays events are free for anyone to attend, with no membership necessary! Many of our wellness events are for families, caregivers, seniors or anyone who feel that they would benefit from attending. Unless otherwise noted, Wellness Wednesday events are hosted at the Veiner Centre.
Through a community partnership with Medicine Hat Family Services (MHFS), we are pleased to offer Supportive Counseling Services on the second Wednesday of the month. These one-on-one, personal and family related counseling for aging adults is available free at the Centre. In-person consultations focus on stress management, family issues, or health and age-related losses.
The third Wednesday of the month is Drop-In Lifelong Learning Series (DILLS). DILLS is a great opportunity to learn and grow through knowledge and empowerment, at any age! Medicine Hat Family Service provides information and discussion on a variety of topics of interest to aging adults. Topics covered in the past include: cooking and nutritiontion, Alzheimer information, physical health, fraud prevention, grief and loss, seniors' provincial and federal benefits informaiton, healthy relationships, grandparent legal rights, self-esteem, communication, positive thinking, and more.
