Job Descriptions
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee has the following volunteer positions:

Finance Chair
  • Report at the monthly meeting the status of the Operating Capital and Foundation accounts
  • Work closely with the Manager of Senior Services regarding self sufficiency of our Centres and report all financial needs to the SCAC
  • Accept all request from member clubs for financial assistance and report it to the foundation
  • Prepare a proposed annual Budget for the SCAC

Chairman
  • Arranges, the monthly agenda and meetings
  • Conducts the meetings
  • Represents the Committee to the Media
  • As hoc member of all standing committees
  • Appoints the Chairman or Ad hoc committees
  • Assigns duties to members as required
  • Coordinates all activities and programs with the Manager of Senior Services

Secretary
  • Records minutes of all regular meetings
  • Works with the Administrative Assistant to have them typed and distributed
  • Sits as a member of the Public Relations Committee
  • Contacts all advisory committee members as required
  • Reports all correspondence and communications at the meeting

Social Development Rep.
  • Attend and report senior updates and issues at the Social Development Advisory Board
  • Convey all SCAC requests to the SDAB
  • Assist the Finance Committee with City Communications when needed
  • Report monthly to the SCAC on the progress of the Social Development Board

Vice Chairman
  • Performs duties in the absence of the Chairman
  • Coordinate and assists all standing committees and special projects
  • Acts as the Public Relations Chairman
