  • Parking - street parking is available along 6th Street and throughout the area.  2 accessible parking stalls with a central walkway are located by the rink entrance.

Cost

  •  The Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat proudly sponsors free public skating times for our community to enjoy. Our schedule is split into three separate categories:

    Public Skating sponsored by the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat

    • Public Skating - anyone is welcome.  Fast skaters are encouraged to skate around the outside edge.
    • Family Skating - children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a perfect opportunity for parents to bring their child skating for the first time.
    • Adult Skating - limited to adults over the age of 18.

    To ensure the safety of all skaters, hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed on the ice during Public Skating.  

Facilities

  • Entrance - level entrance with push botton operated automatic doors.
  • Washrooms - Limited Accessibility.  While there is a larger bathroom stall in both the Men's and Women's Washroom the challenge is getting into the washroom.  The washroom doorways have a 29 inch (750mm) opening followed by a 90 degree turn.
  • Ice Surface - is 185 feet by 85 feet.  There is a near level entry to the ice surface.
  • Dressing Rooms - Limited Accessibility.  There are two dressing rooms on each side of a central hallway.  The entrances have a clear opening of 30.5 inches (775mm).  Each pair shares a small washroom and shower area.  Neither the washrooms or the shower facilities are wheelchair accessible.
  • Seating
    • Public seating for 350 people is located along the South wall of the ice rink and ca be accessed by a flight of stairs flanked by railings.  Overhead heating directs heat onto seated patrons.
    • Accessible seating - A large space in the northwest corner has been set aside as accesssible seating.  It can be accessed from a ramp off the main hallway .  A ceiling mounted heating unit directs warm air towards those sitting part way back on the platform.
