City Centre Development Agency (CCDA) is a business revitalization zone (BRZ) located in downtown Medicine Hat. The CCDA was formed as a result of the wishes of the downtown business community. The BRZ is accommodated under the Municipal Government Act of Alberta which provides for taxation of local businesses for its operation.

Board members of the CCDA include downtown merchants and business associates with the day to day activities managed by an Executive Director. A representative from Medicine Hat City Council sits on the CCDA board of directors.

Funding is provided to the CCDA in the form of a Downtown Business Tax on all businesses in the downtown. The City of Medicine Hat is responsible for approving the CCDA budget, collecting the appropriate taxes to fund operations and dispersing the funds to the CCDA.

In addition to tax funding, the CCDA receives a financial grant from the City of Medicine Hat to assist with downtown economic development, special projects and administration.

The goal of the CCDA is to provide a voice for the Downtown and its businesses and to attract visitors to the downtown core. Numerous special events as such Spectrum, Chili-Cook Off, Downtown Easter Egg Hunt, Downtown Midnight Madness ensure that the community remains aware of the opportunities available in the downtown as well as the unique shopping experiences and restaurants there.
