Bill Page

Builder/Coach/Mentor/Organizer, Boxing

Bill Page is widely recognized as a cornerstone of amateur boxing in Medicine Hat and the surrounding region, having dedicated decades to building the sport from the ground up. As the driving force behind the Medicine Hat Boxing Club and Badlands Boxing Club, he coached and mentored hundreds of young athletes, guiding many to success as Provincial Champions, Golden Gloves winners, and even to the elite level of a Canadian Olympic fighter. A true pioneer, Bill launched one of the early women’s boxing programs in 1994, helping to open doors and create opportunities for female athletes long before the sport gained mainstream recognition. His profound impact has been honored through a Civic Recognition Award in 1996, induction into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2005, and his leadership at the provincial level as President of the Alberta Amateur Boxing Association.
