Medicine Hat’s reputation as a hotbed for developing competitive young swimmers owes much of its growth to the efforts of Brian McNally.
Brian started his local coaching career with the Medicine Hat Ralston Swim Club and the Alberta Marling Aquatic Club in 1960, moving up to head coach from 1966-71 and again from 1976-78. From 1973-76 he was active as head coach of the Medicine Hat “Y” Otters Swim Club.
Brian’s efforts have led to the development of swimmers going on to compete in many provincial and national meets, all the way to the Canadian Olympic team – fitting tribute to a fine coach and citizen.
