Danny McLeod is a highly respected figure in Canadian sport, renowned for his leadership, coaching excellence, and lasting influence on hockey and athletics administration. As Director of Athletics at the Royal Military College, he played a key role in shaping varsity sport and helped establish the Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union (now U Sports), strengthening the foundation of collegiate athletics nationwide. A coach of exceptional caliber, he was twice named Ontario Hockey Coach of the Year, reflecting both his competitive success and his ability to develop players and teams. McLeod’s expertise and integrity also earned him a prominent role as Supervisor of Officials in the National Hockey League, where his contributions were recognized with the prestigious Birchall Leadership Award from the NHL Officials Association in 2007.
