Dean Terlson made a lasting and meaningful impact on community sport in Medicine Hat through decades of dedication as a coach, mentor, and program builder. He played a central role in developing the Medicine Hat Cubs Junior B hockey program and devoted 25 years to coaching minor hockey beginning in 1957, during which his teams captured four Provincial Junior B championships. Beyond hockey, Dean generously shared his passion for sport by coaching high school basketball and football, as well as spending 17 summers guiding young athletes on the baseball diamond in Little League. His lifelong commitment to youth development and multi‑sport excellence helped shape generations of athletes and left a strong legacy in Medicine Hat’s sporting community.
