Dean began coaching minor hockey in 1957 – 25 years later he had affected the lives of hundreds of young boys, had coached four provincial Junior B championship teams, had sent players to Junior A, University, European and NHL hockey and had been the inspiration and mentor for a number of coaches of minor hockey in the city.
Best known for his development of the Medicine Hat Cubs Junior B program, Dean found time to coach high school basketball and football, to train junior and senior hockey teams and to spend 17 summers coaching little league baseball.
Integrity and devotion are the hallmarks of Dean Terlson’s commitment to youth in Medicine Hat.
