Rud Henderson is widely respected for his excellence, leadership, and integrity within the sport of archery. An accomplished archer from 1976 to 1986, he set an impressive 12 national records, establishing himself as one of Canada’s top competitors during that era. Beyond his personal achievements, Rud was deeply committed to building the sport at the grassroots level, playing an active role in establishing a field course for the RedHat Archers Club in 1977. His passion for coaching and mentorship was evident when he guided eight young Albertans to compete at the Canada Summer Games in Thunder Bay, helping develop the next generation of elite athletes. A tireless promoter of good stewardship and respect for the sport, Rud Henderson’s legacy is defined not only by records and results, but by his enduring contributions to archery’s growth and values.
