City launches new interactive Parks and Recreation mapping tool
The City of Medicine Hat is making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to discover parks and outdoor amenities with the launch of the new Parks and Recreation Explorer interactive mapping tool.
The online tool provides an engaging, easy-to-use way to explore some of the community’s most popular destination parks, playgrounds, pools, spray parks and recreation facilities. Residents can browse locations, discover amenities and get inspired to explore the city’s diverse offerings - whether close to home or within a neighbourhood they’ve never visited before.
“The development of this tool is part of our ongoing effort to make information more accessible and easier to navigate,” said Colleen Graham, Director of Communications, Engagement and Marketing. “The Explorer helps Hatters and visitors connect with the full breadth of spaces and experiences available right here in Medicine Hat.”
The initial launch marks the first iteration of the Explorer and coincides with Parks & Recreation Month in June. Future updates will expand the tool to include all parks across Medicine Hat, along with detailed information on amenities and recreation opportunities such as basketball, pickleball, disc golf and more.
“By enhancing access to information, this tool helps reduce barriers and encourages people to get active, explore their community and enjoy the outdoors,” said Graham. “We encourage residents to use the Explorer to discover a new park or playground as part of their Parks & Recreation Month celebrations.”
