Southeast Alberta Municipal Immigration (SAMI) includes the City of Medicine Hat, Cypress County, the Town of Redcliff, and the Town of Bow Island.
Collectively, the municipalities are approved by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program as a designated community for the Rural Renewal Stream. Medicine Hat Economic Development operates the Rural Renewal Stream on behalf of Southeast Alberta Municipal Immigration.
The Rural Renewal supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community.
Participating employers can retain existing employees by sponsoring them for permanent residency, OR make full-time permanent job offers to fill labour shortages.
Employers must recruit locally first, using Canada Job Bank, Indeed, and the SAMI Job Board. If the positions remain vacant, employers can recruit from within Alberta, within Canada, or outside of Canada.
All job vacancies are available to Canadians and locals first. Anyone seeking employment is invited to use the SAMI Job Board.
