How the Program Works
The core mission of this program is to provide opportunities for new graduates and experienced candidates to learn more about Medicine Hat through a guided experience and interactions with some of our top employers. If you would like to join the program, we encourage you to register below after learning a bit more about the program and the participating employers. Information on the employers and their job openings, the program, and the benefits of living in Medicine Hat can be found below.

Get matched to opportunities - we'll share your information with relevant companies, who will help select which candidates will come to Medicine Hat for the OpporTOURnity Talent Edition
Tour the city - selected candidates will be brought to Medicine Hat meet our team and potential employers, as well as explore the city and participate in facility tours.

Complete the registration form to express your interest. Registration closes March 30, 2026, and applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis so early submission is encouraged.
Candidates will be selected based on the needs and preferences of the participating employers.
Selected candidates will receive an email notification between April 10–17, 2026.
You will have until April 22, 2026 to confirm your acceptance or decline.
Travel between Calgary and Medicine Hat, as well as accommodation and meals in Medicine Hat, will be provided for selected candidates.
Official invitations including travel details, the event schedule, and the full agenda will be sent to all confirmed participants.
Step 5: Travel to Medicine Hat
Invited candidates will be provided with group transportation from Calgary to Medicine Hat on May 7, 2026, ensuring arrival in time for the evening networking event. Return transportation to Calgary will be offered on May 8 at the conclusion of the program. Candidates travelling from outside Calgary are welcome to meet the group at the Calgary International Airport and join the arranged transportation. Those who prefer to make their own travel arrangements may do so at their own expense.
Hotel accommodation for the night of May 7 and all meals during the event will be provided.
Step 6: OpporTOURnity Experience
The event begins with an evening mixer designed to help candidates connect with community leaders, employers, and fellow participants in a relaxed setting. The following day features a guided introduction to Medicine Hat - highlighting local amenities, lifestyle advantages, and the region’s strong sense of community. Candidates will also have opportunities to engage directly with employers, learn about career pathways, and gain insight into key industries shaping the region. The experience concludes with site visits to participating businesses. Specific tour locations will be selected based on candidates’ areas of interest and employer availability.
May 7: Social Mixer (7-9pm)
May 8: City Tour, Employer Networking, Business Site Visits (8am-4pm)
After the event, the Economic Development team will connect with participants to gather feedback on their experience and document any connections, opportunities, or job outcomes that emerged. This may include a short survey and optional photo or video testimonials.
