MH Economic Development participates in international conference


Al Sharma, Manager of Investment Attraction for Medicine Hat Economic Development, attended the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Conference in Whistler, BC in January 2025.

The ICSC is a global organization founded in 1957, featuring over 70,000 members from more than 100 countries. Its diverse membership includes shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers, brokers, academics, and public officials.

 

As part of its industry advancement mandate, the ICSC hosts networking, learning, dealmaking, and promotional events around the world.

A global audience for the "Corner of Opportunity"

Al Sharma, MH Economic Development's Manager of Investment AttractionAl's objective was to learn more about the industry and network with stakeholders regarding Medicine Hat real estate.

The event drew 2,200 delegates representing a range of sectors, including owners/developers, retailers/tenants, real estate services, property/shopping centre management, financial/investment services, architecture/design/engineering, and public sector organizations.

During the conference, Al generated significant interest in Medicine Hat real estate, making over 50 valuable contacts. Follow-up engagement and meetings are now being planned and executed to capitalize on this momentum.
