Rec & Ride Youth Pass

In 2025 the City of Medicine Hat introduced the Rec & Ride Youth Pass as a collaborative summer program to keep youth active in our community.

The program ran from June 27 to September 5 and saw incredible uptake making it a success.

Youth aged 13-17 were eligible for a Rec & Ride Youth Pass. For $50, passholders were granted unlimited transit use, as well as entry to six total City and YMCA recreation facilities in Medicine Hat when valid:

  • Big Marble Go Centre
  • Crestwood Recreation Centre
  • Hill Pool
  • Strathcona Pool
  • Downtown YMCA
  • South Ridge YMCA

Rec & Ride Youth Passes were available to all youth, regardless of physical address - not just Medicine Hat residents. The City of Medicine Hat thanks the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta for its participation and collaboration in this partnership. The City will be looking to offer the Rec and Ride Youth Pass again in 2026, with an opportunity to enhance community partnerships and pass eligibility.
