Every year we celebrate Earth Day on April 22
Just as we did on April 22, 1970, 55 years ago, we are once again calling on individuals, local communities, government and faith leaders, civil society, educators, and the media to unite in taking action to safeguard our future and protect the health of our planet. Earth Action Day offers every person the opportunity to contribute.
This Earth Action Day, we honor the legacy of the first Earth Day – when 20 million Americans united to demand change. From that collective action, the environmental movement was born, resulting in landmark legislation and a growing awareness that a healthy planet meant healthy people.
Community clean-up
In 2025 we hosted a full week of Litter Blitz activity, starting by participating in the Interpretive Program's Earth Day Bash in Police Point Park where folks were able to pick up their Litter Blitz supplies.
The Litter Blitz will ran from Saturday, April 26 to Saturday, May 3, 2025. This week-long effort was aimed at beautifying our city by cleaning up litter. We're calling on organizations, schools, and all residents to take part in this community initiative!
To celebrate all the hard work and support of our Blitzers, we hosted a Thank You BBQ back in Police Point Park on Saturday, May 3.
We invite everyone to join a city-wide clean-up event!
