- Signification local, provincial, national or international recognition
- Sustained ambassadorship of Medicine Hat in sports
- Longevity of achievement in sports
- Contribution towards the betterment of the sports community
- Born in or has moved to Medicine Hat or area within the last 10 years and considers the Medicine Hat area an important part of their life experience
- Excelled in sports as a leader (an athlete, builder, administrator, official, media/broadcaster, sports writer, team, sponsor)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in their field and has had outstanding or extraordinary success
- Athletes must be retired from competition, but can still be involved in the sport in other ways
The City of Medicine Hat recognizes community leaders, honours individuals and teams while instilling a sense of pride in outstanding sports achievement through the Sports Wall of Fame.
The Sports Wall of Fame was established in 1983 when 14 citizens were recognized by the City of Medicine Hat for their outstanding contribution to sports in Medicine Hat. There are now more than 30 people recognized on that wall, proudly displayed at Big Marble Go Centre.

2026 Induction Ceremony
This year the City of Medicine Hat is proud to be recognizing Rob Grisonich, Wes King Hunter and Wade Peterson with their induction to the Sports Wall of Fame.
Please join us on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Big Marble Go Centre to celebrate their induction.
- Nominations are accepted and received throughout the year
- The nomination form must include a minimum of two letters of support
- Nominees must be in retirement from competition or following an outstanding achievement that warrants special recognition
- Nominees are eligible for three selection years only, and then will be removed from the selection process unless their accomplishments have changed and they are nominated again at a later date
- City Council conducts final review and approval of all applications
- A public reception and plaque unveiling will be hosted by the City of Medicine Hat
- A permanent plaque will be installed on the Sports Wall of Fame at the Big Marble Go Centre
The annual submission deadline is September 30.
