3 Street SE Downtown project nearing completion

Medicine Hat – The intersection of 3 Street SE and 6 Avenue SE has reopened to motorists as the 3 Street SE Downtown Utility and Surface Upgrades project nears completion.

The 600 block of 3 Street SE returns to one-way traffic flow toward South Railway Street SE with the re-opening of this intersection. Previously, the block had accommodated two-way traffic during this intersection closure.

The 500 block of 3 Street SE is set to re-open by the end of the week, weather permitting, marking the completion of the final closure of this project in 2024.

Remaining work on this project includes top lift paving, minor concrete work, landscaping and pavement markings. This work will be undertaken on the intersection of 3 Street SE and 6 Avenue SE, as well as the 500 block of 3 Street SE. The remainder of this project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2025, and is anticipated to take approximately one week, weather permitting.
