Accessible trail project at Lions Park baseball diamond

Medicine Hat – Construction of an accessible asphalt trail at Lions Park baseball diamond is scheduled to begin on September 11, with a projected completion date in October 2023.

Bert Maltin Fields have a longstanding commitment to promoting accessible sports activities, as seen through programs like Challenger Baseball. The new trail will link the eastern edge of the baseball diamond to the Strathcona parking lot, creating an easily navigable path for those in wheelchairs or facing mobility limitations. This upgrade aims to significantly enhance inclusivity and accessibility at Bert Maltin Fields.

The section of the park undergoing construction will be temporarily fenced. We urge visitors to observe and adhere to construction and closure signage in the area. For more information, please call 403.529.8333.

The City of Medicine Hat would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding as the necessary improvements are completed.
