Carry Drive SE rehabilitation begins
Medicine Hat - During the week of July 4, 2022, the City of Medicine Hat will begin road construction along Carry Drive SE, from the top of Scholten Hill to the Cameron Road SE intersection. Traffic detours will be installed, followed by construction activities, with work anticipated to be completed by September 2022, weather dependent.
Transportation infrastructure renewal projects such as Carry Drive SE are an important part of the City’s asset management strategy.
The scope of the project will:
- remove and replace the pavement surface;
- upgrade the curve and intersections at Southview Drive SE and Ross Glen Drive SE;
- remove and replace damaged concrete surfaces, where necessary; and
- add and replace damaged storm water infrastructure.
The traffic detour plans will vary depending on the location of the active construction zone. Initially, Carry Drive SE will be closed to through traffic between Crestwood Drive SE to Cuyler Road SE. Traffic coming up Scholten Hill to detour onto Crestwood Drive SE/Corbitt Way SE/Cuyler Road SE. Northbound traffic will detour onto Southview Drive SE to Dunmore Road SE. Changes to the traffic detour plans will be required as the project progresses.

Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and detours and watch for further updates as the project progresses.
The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding while we undertake this important infrastructure improvement project.
