City announces additional measures for REP facilities

Medicine Hat – Following guidance from the Government of Alberta, new measures will come into effect at all City facilities participating in the Restriction Exemption Program (REP) effective December 24.

Big Marble Go Centre

  • New Year’s Eve Fest is cancelled
  • Food service will remain open

Co-Op Place

  • Facility will see reduced capacity to 50% during major events (ex. Tigers games)
  • Facility will see reduced capacity to 499 people during ice rentals
  • Concessions will be unavailable

Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre

  • Venue will see reduced capacity to 499 people
  • Concessions will be unavailable

Hockey Hounds

  • No impact at this time

Kinplex

  • Facility will see reduced capacity to 499 people
  • Concessions will remain open

Please note that physical distancing and masking requirements remain in effect at all City facilities.

“These necessary measures come at a time when the number of active cases and hospitalizations are rising across Alberta,” said Fire Chief Brian Stauth, acting Managing Director of the Public Services division. “We must implement these measures now in order to help keep our residents and staff safe.”
