City Information
The City is responsible for City facilities, keeping City staff healthy and safe, helping prevent the spread of the virus in the community (shutting down rec facilities etc.) and most importantly, ensuring essential services (fire services, police services, water treatment, power plant and utility distribution) continue to operate smoothly through business continuity planning.
The City will continue to post about City-related impacts. This will include:
Cancellations and closures of City facilities
Impacts on City-related services
Information on changes to City-related fees (Big Marble Go Centre, utilities, taxes, etc.)
Community Resources Page on City Website
A community resources webpage is under development that will provide community members a collection of local agencies and groups offering support services in Medicine Hat. This resource is expected to be live later this week.
The City is very aware of the impact on the community and will work with residents, businesses, and other levels of government to help the community recover from this unprecedented event. These actions will take time.
For now, the City encourages everyone to remember the four Cs:
Calm
Cautious
Courteous
Compassionate
You can find information on City-related impacts at our COVID-19 page.
