City welcomes back convention expected to host 3,500+ visitors

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat will welcome back the Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention on June 21-23, 2024 at Co-op Place.

“We are excited to work once again with City officials to host one of our conventions in Medicine Hat,” says Brad Pramberg, regional spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Many people need to experience some positivity in their lives, and we are happy to enjoy the program once gain in this welcoming and hospitable community.”

This year, the event will welcome over 3,500+ participants from across Alberta and parts of British Columbia and Saskatchewan. In 2023, the event hosted 8,500+ people and as a result of an economic impact study conducted by Tourism Medicine Hat and the Medicine Hat Sport and Event Council, the event brought $4M+ in economic activity to the community.

“Being selected to host this conference for a second year, highlights that Medicine Hat has the willingness and capacity to support large-scale events,” said Mayor Linnsie Clark. “We are once again grateful to the conference organizers for selecting our city to host this event and giving us the opportunity to share our Medicine Hat hospitality and amenities with so many visitors.”

The influx of visitors is expected to have a significant boost to the local business community, particularly in the tourism and hospitality industries. The event will create jobs, increase revenue for local businesses, and promote the community as a desirable destination for visitors.

Medicine Hat is one of 23 cities across Canada to host the Jehovah’s Witnesses this year.
