Co-op Place officially reopens to the community under new name

Medicine Hat – The City of Medicine Hat is proud to mark the official re-opening of the regional event centre under its new name, Co-op Place.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held ahead of the season opener for the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Western Hockey League.

South-Country Co-op has a long history in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas, supporting numerous events and causes, including the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation, HALO, and many more.

“Co-op is an outstanding partner for the community and we’re all thrilled at the commitment they’ve made to this city and southern Alberta,” said Mayor Ted Clugston. “Many amazing memories will be made at this event centre and we’re just as excited as our partners to welcome residents and visitors back into the facility.”

Located in the Box Springs Business Park, Co-op Place is a state-of-the-art facility and is considered the city’s premiere entertainment value and home to the Medicine Hat Tigers.
