Committee meeting recordings to be posted online

Medicine Hat – Recordings of the open meetings of committees of City Council will now be posted online, part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve access to information and encourage resident awareness of City activities in convenient ways. These committees include:

• Administrative and Legislative Review and Government Relations
• Audit
• Corporate Services
• Council Employee
• Development and Infrastructure
• Emergency Advisory
• Energy, Land and Environment
• Municipal Planning Commission
• Public Services

The day after each meeting, the recording will be published to the City’s YouTube channel. Each committee will have its own playlist to make it easier for community members to find the video they are looking for.

While the recordings will be posted to YouTube, live streaming will not be offered on that platform due to technology constraints in the meeting room. Those who wish to watch the meetings live must continue to access the agenda from the City’s website and join via MS Teams. These agendas can be accessed in the Agendas and Minutes portal on the City website at https://docs.medicinehat.ca/onbaseagendaonline.

Committee meetings remain open to public attendance (with the exception of closed sessions as defined by Alberta’s Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Acts.)
