Mayor Clark provided an update on the City of Medicine Hat Statement of Acknowledgement, advising that the statement will be read at the beginning of all City Council meetings going forward.
Catherine Knaus, Director of Public Affairs with IPSOS, presented the results of the City of Medicine Hat 2022 Community Survey. The scientific survey was conducted by IPSOS in May of 2022 with a random sampling of 400 telephone surveys. The report indicated that 95 percent of residents thought their quality of life was good or very good and an overall satisfaction rate of 90% with City services. Greg Weiss, President, Corvus Business Advisors; along with City staff Randi Buchner, Superintendent, Engineering; and Conrad Westerson, Municipal Engineer II, presented an update to Council on the offsite levy rate review that is currently underway.
Robert Sissons, Manager of Planning, and Randi Buchner, Superintendent, Engineering, presented on Direct Control Development Permit PLDP20220342. The application is for a change of use for the development of a Single Detached House on lands zoned as Direct Control (DC) District.
Following a non-statutory public hearing, City Council defeated Direct Control Permit PLDP20220342.
