Councillor Reynish congratulated the Medicine Hat Public Library and Esplanade for a successful Pecha Kucha Night event on Saturday, January 17.

Councillor Hellman announced that last week he, along with Mayor Clark and Councillor Young, met with the Kookums, a local group advocating for the unhoused in our community. They spoke about how their group and the City could work together to collectively solve problems and further build community. Elements of the discussion will be brought forward to the Resilient and Inclusive Task Force for further discussion.

Councillor Young advised that going forward, all standing committee meetings will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube for community viewing.

The Consent Agenda is used by City Council to streamline meetings by grouping routine, non-controversial items - such as approval of previous minutes, standard reports, and minor administrative actions - into a single agenda item. These are approved in a single motion without discussion, though any member can request an item be removed for separate consideration. This process saves time and lets Council focus on more complex issues.
