Municipally Controlled Corporation Public Hearing

Mayor Clark provided introductory remarks, explaining the order of operations, before opening the public hearing.

Managing Director of Energy, Environment and Land, Rochelle Pancoast, gave a presentation that outlined the circumstances that led to the energy review conducted by KPMG in 2024, the current context in the energy industry, and the rationale for administration’s recommendation to form a Municipally Controlled Corporation and Rate Review Committee to operate the City’s electric generation and distribution business.

Following the public hearing, City Council approved a motion to defer deliberations to the July 21 meeting of City Council.
