Crestwood Rec Centre reopens following routine maintenance
Medicine Hat – The Crestwood Recreation Centre will reopen on Tuesday, August 2, at 5:45 a.m. following routine scheduled maintenance necessary within the facility.
“We’re excited to be able to have our members and the community back at the Crestwood Rec Centre,” said Scott Richter, Acting Director of the Parks & Recreation Department. “Over the last month, crews have been able to repair and replace some of the tiles in and around the pool, as well as make additional repairs which were required since reopening the facility earlier this year.”
The reopening of the facility will include access to the pool, as well as the fitness area and racquetball court.
The annual shutdown of the Kinsmen Aquatic Park at Big Marble Go Centre is scheduled to begin Friday, August 19 until Monday, September 5. During this time, active memberships at Big Marble Go Centre will be honoured at Crestwood Rec Centre, as well as the YMCA.
“We want to again thank the YMCA of Medicine Hat for honouring our Crestwood and Big Marble Go Centre memberships during these closures,” Richter added. “Providing access to another pool is just one example of a fantastic partnership in our community and was a great initiative to helping keep our residents active and healthy.”
Pass holders, members of the public and visitors are encouraged to visit our outdoor pools, including Hill and Strathcona Pool, for free public swim sponsored by the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat, which is on until the end of the summer swim season. Availability is dependent on pool capacity.
