Deadline to apply for mail-in election ballots is Monday

Medicine Hat – The deadline to apply for a Special (mail-in) Ballot for the upcoming Medicine Hat Municipal Election is Monday, Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m.

Special ballots are available for electors who will be away from the Medicine Hat voting jurisdiction during the advance polls (Oct. 9, 12-16) and Election day, Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, or for those who are homebound due to disability.

Voters who are granted a special ballot must fill out and return their ballot, oath and copy of identification by 4:30 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, Oct.18.

“Exercising your right to vote is important for all Medicine Hat residents, including those who had planned to be away during election time,” said Jessica Robinson, Deputy Returning Officer. “This service will also benefit those who are homebound due to a physical disability and prefer not to have election officers attend their residence.”

Applications can be made online at the Voter Information page at www.medicinehat.ca/election via telephone at 403-529-8382, or by email to jesrob@medicinehat.ca.
