Echo Dale access limited during hot air balloon festival

Medicine Hat – Beginning Wednesday, May 25, access to Echo Dale Regional Park may be limited ahead of the Rise Up Hot Air Balloon festival, taking place Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29.

Public parking, as well as accessible parking stalls, are available at the swim centre and overflow areas. Volunteer parking attendants will be on site to assist visitors.

Please note the Echo Dale look out point will be unavailable from Wednesday, May 25 to Monday, May 30.

The festival and balloon launches will take place in the east end of the park. Motorists can expect restricted vehicle access to this area throughout the event, though walk-in access is permitted.

With limited event parking available, park visitors are encouraged to use the Heritage Trail Network to access the park, including the multi-use trail which connects Gas City Campground and Echo Dale.

Park visitors can also expect to use the boating lake, which will be stacked with rainbow trout on Friday, May 27. The swim lake opens for the season at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28. Echo Dale Farm will also reopen on Saturday.

Visit the city website for more ways to rediscover Echo Dale Regional Park.
