Echo Dale boat launch, trails reopens to public
Medicine Hat – With the clean-up work continuing throughout Echo Dale Regional Park, staff are able to safely reopen the boat launch and allow park visitors on the multi-use trails beginning Friday, August 12.
“There continues to be a lot of activity throughout the park as crews continue to clean up debris from the July storm,” said Dave Genio, Manager of Parks with the City of Medicine Hat. “There’s still a lot of work left to complete before we can open up the rest of the park, but we’re excited to reopen the boat launch for anyone looking to access the South Saskatchewan River, as well as the trails throughout the park and to Gas City Campground.”
The boating lake, campground and off-leash areas are also closed to pedestrians and vehicles.
The swim lake and concession are open during regular park hours, as well as Echo Dale Farm, which bring various animals on-site on the weekends. The group continues to offer farm tours from the Woolfrey House to Ajax Mine.
“We want to again thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time,” Genio added.
