On Monday, the following areas will be open for public access:
Cenovus Arena
Ice rental times now available

Fitness Centre (pre-registration NOT required)
Group fitness classes (pre-registration required)
“Our team is excited to welcome everyone back, safely,” said James Will, General Manager of Parks & Recreation. “The main lobby will look different because of the protocols we will have in place, including reminders about physical distancing, but our staff are here to help guide you and answer any questions you or your family may have.”
Additional amenities will reopen in a staged approach:
Kinsmen Aquatic Park – July 13
Public Swim and Lane Swim (pre-registration required for both)
Gymnasium – week of July 20
Fieldhouse – week of July 27
Following guidelines from the Government of Alberta, there will be restrictions on the number of participants allowed in the public swim and lane sessions, as well as the group fitness classes. People participating in these programs must be pre-registered, and can do so 48 hours in advance at medicinehat.ca/Big Marble Go Centre. At this time, the Big Marble Go Centre is unable to accommodate 'walk up’ traffic. Please do not drop off family members unless they are registered in the scheduled time slot.
For more information on these opportunities, email recreation@medicinehat.ca.
Information about swimming lessons will be available on the City website and shared prior to registration opening.
The Big Marble Go Centre is offering a Stay Safe Pass, allowing access to all open recreational facilities, from July 6 to August 30, for a one-time fee. Admission rates for pre-registered times and access to the Fitness Centre are also available.
“We do still ask that anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to please stay home,” Will added. “If everyone continues to make responsible choices, we can all enjoy these facilities. We continue to monitor our cleaning and sterilizing practices to ensure we mitigate virus transmission in our community.”
A reminder that the Big Marble Go Centre parking lot improvement project in ongoing and is scheduled to be completed by August. Parking is available on the east side of the facility. Vehicle access to and from 23 Street NW may be reduced to one lane for limited periods to accommodate construction activities. Access is also available from 20 Street NW.
