Fire & Emergency Services rescue team training at Saamis Tepee
*UPDATE*
Medicine Hat – On Friday, October 7, the technical rescue team with Fire & Emergency Services will perform training exercises at the Saamis Tepee.
The training scenarios are expected to begin at 9:00 a.m. and run throughout the day. Scenarios will involve members of the advance response team climbing various parts of the tepee and lowering members to the ground.
The area will remain open to the public during this time. Signs will be in place asking residents and visitors stay away from the immediate area where crews are training.
The technical rescue team is one of three advance response teams within Fire & Emergency Services. The team trains regularly and respond to incidents involving elevation rescues, both low and high angle, as well as confined space rescue.
The City of Medicine Hat thanks the public for the patience and understanding as this training is completed.
