Hill Pool closed for unplanned maintenance
Medicine Hat – Hill Pool has suffered a water line break and is closed immediately for unplanned maintenance. Crews must break through concrete in order to reach and repair the leak.
Hill Pool at 44 Seventh Street SW will be closed Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8, 2022, and may remain closed over the weekend. Updates will be shared on social media as the magnitude of repair is uncovered.
Staff are making arrangements to move or reschedule swimming lessons. Anyone scheduled in lessons at Hill Pool during the closure will be contacted directly by aquatic staff to advise next steps.
Swimmers are encouraged to visit one of the other swim areas that are open at this time:
Strathcona Outdoor Pool at 1150 Fifth Street SE, Echo Dale Swim Lake at Echo Dale Regional Park off Holsom Road SW, or the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre (indoor) at the Big Marble Go Centre at 2000 Division Avenue N. Visit the City’s website at www.medicinehat.ca/swim for hours of operation and swim times.
Residents may also cool off at one of the City’s four outdoor spray parks: Kiwanis Central Park at 900 Third Avenue SE, Ross Glen Water Park on Ross Glen Road SE, Saamis Rotary Park on Brentwood Lane SW or Strathcona Island Park off Fifth Street SE.
The City of Medicine Hat thanks residents for their patience and understanding as crews make emergency repairs.
