Kin Coulee/Trans Canada Tunnel Trail closed

Medicine Hat – The tunnel connection between Kin Coulee Park and the environmental reserve area located on the west side of the Trans Canada Highway is closed due to flooding and ice build-up. Visitors can access the environmental reserve from the Saamis Teepee site.

Crews will assess the tunnel early next week to determine when it can safely open.

City staff have identified an engineering solution for the tunnel walkway that will be completed during the 2022 construction season to mitigate future flooding issues at this location.

Residents are asked to obey all signage and maintain a safe distance.
