Kiwanis Central Park – Irrigation upgrades update

Medicine Hat – Work to upgrade the irrigation system at Kiwanis Central Park is nearing completion. The City is pleased to announce that the splash park, naturalized play area, and basketball court are now open! The Central Park Picnic Shelter will be opening the following week.

Certain sections of Central Park will remain temporarily closed as the contractor completes the installation of the new irrigation system and finalizes landscaping enhancements, including the hydroseeding of areas with poor turf conditions. The disc golf course and the blue whale playground will also be inaccessible until Spring 2024.

Please note that the City will not be taking any park bookings for the splash park, although bookings for the Central Park Picnic Shelter will be available.

Visitors to the park are kindly requested to adhere to the marked construction boundaries and access only the open areas specified above.

The City of Medicine Hat would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding as these necessary improvements are completed.
