Medicine Hat Transit Reverts Back
The restoration of the previous system includes all routes, signage, schedules, weekend and statutory holiday coverage, and peak and nonpeak services that were provided prior to Sept. 5, 2017. This also includes the reinstatement of the Transit Terminal as the main transfer hub.
A new Ride Guide with maps and schedules will be made available in print and online. Posters on the buses and in bus shelters, media, social media and advertising will be used to inform riders about the change. Questions can be directed to the Transit line at 403.529.8214. Additionally, staff will be available near the Transit stops outside the Esplanade from 8 am – 5 pm Nov. 14-24, to answer questions about routes and schedules.
Work to revert back to the previous system includes recruiting, hiring and training new drivers, creating new driver schedules, removal/relocation of signs, shelters and benches, and resuming operations at the downtown terminal. Some of this work is ongoing.
With the return of the previous transit schedule, weekend transit shuttle service for those who qualified under the Fair Entry Program will finish on November 26, 2017.
Special Transit services are not impacted by this change.
